Defragmentation	Disk Defragmentation is a computer process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in the file system, the defragmenter does this by organizing the contents of the mass storage device to store files in a contiguous regions if possible. This process has advantageous and is relevant to file systems.
Disk compression	A disk compressions work by increasing the amount of information that is stored on the hard drive depending on its size, the disk compression works in the background of the computer and it works automatically without the user having to go through the process manually, when certain information needs to be stored on the harddrive the the disk compression will automatically compress it until the user wants to acess that information and the information will decompress.
Disk Cleaner	Disk cleaner is a computer maintenance utility that is designed to free up disk space on a computer’s hard drive, the computer looks at the file that are no longer in use and are unnecessary and removes them. There are different section that the disk clean up tool targets when performing the clean-up these section consist of: Compression of old files Temporary Internet files Temporary Windows file Downloaded Program files Recycle Bin Removal of unused applications or optional Windows components Setup Log files Offline files
Back up	backing up software refers to making copies of specific data so that in the event of data loss one has a “back up” copy of the program or file that has been lost. Back-ups have two distinct purposes; the main purpose of this is to have a emergency backup copy to recover data as a reaction to data loss, because it is common to experience data loss.
Disk Checkers	Disk Checker is a command on a computer operating system that displays the file system integrity status of hard disk and floppy disk and can fix logical file system errors
